Waterbased airbrush paint designed specifically with RC in mind although can be used on other projects, surfaces, automotive etc. and are made with exterior-grade (automotive) pigments allowing
them to withstand prolonged exposure to direct, outdoor light without
fading. For maximum permanence, a top-coat should be applied over the
paint after curing.
The chrome, holographic, prismatic and solvent reducer are all solvent based paints.
Bottle sizes are 8oz unless stated otherwise.
For best results straight out of the bottle
with a 0.5mm tip-sized airbrush operated @ 40 – 60 PSI. For smaller
tip-sizes, lower PSI settings and fine-line detailed artwork, reducing and adjusting air to paint ratios may be required. Shake vigorously prior to use. Paints are strained prior to bottling although any top airbrush artist would do this again prior to decanting in to the airbrush cup to avoid any spatter or clogging.
Chrome is ready to spray. Solvent based mirror chrome effect paint. Cost effective way of
reproducing a chrome plated look with over 95% reflectivity. Suitable
for lexan and other non porous surfaces. Shake/mix well before use.
Apply in light-medium coats allowing to flash off between each coat. 2-3 coats required depending on application. For best
results when using on lexan rc bodyshells back with black. (waterbased only)
Waterbased paints - apply in several light coats, heat setting in between each coat. When used on bodyshells we leave 2 days after completion of the paint job before sealing the bodyshell. We use Halfords lacquer or Plastikote clear enamel. These are our personal preferences and you should test any products for yourself before committing it to a project. We can not be responsible for any any reactions or incompatibilities of any sold or mentioned products.
